Congress leader and Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Punjab tomorrow, Tuesday, September 16, for a day-long tour to assess the extensive damage caused by the recent floods. The program was confirmed by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Amrinder Raja Warring. The Rahul Gandhi Punjab visit will focus on directly engaging with the affected population.
According to the finalized schedule, Rahul Gandhi will arrive at Amritsar Airport at 9:30 am. From there, he will immediately proceed to the Ramdas area to meet with flood-affected families and listen to their concerns. His tour will also cover other severely impacted regions, including Ajnala, Gurdaspur, and Dinangar.
The primary objective of the visit is to provide a comprehensive ground-level assessment of the flood damage and to oversee the relief operations being carried out by the Congress party across the state. This visit comes at a crucial time as the state government and the Centre are engaged in a political debate over the allocation and use of disaster relief funds.
