The Haryana state government has set a strict deadline of July 10, 2025, for farmers to submit online applications to avail subsidies on Direct Seeding of Rice (DSR) machines for the Kharif season. This initiative is a critical component of the state’s strategy to promote water conservation and sustainable agricultural practices.
๐ง Promoting Water Conservation with DSR
The subsidy scheme, managed by the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, is designed to encourage farmers to shift away from the traditional, water-intensive method of transplanting paddy. The Direct Seeding of Rice (DSR) technique is significantly more water-efficient, helping to combat the rapidly declining groundwater level in the region.
To further incentivize this shift, the state government is also providing an incentive of โน4,500 per acre to farmers who successfully adopt the DSR method, demonstrating its firm commitment to water-saving farming.
๐ฐ Subsidy Details and Application Process
Farmers purchasing a DSR machine can receive a substantial financial benefit:
-
Subsidy Amount: 50% of the machine’s total cost or โน40,000, whichever amount is less.
-
Application Deadline: July 10, 2025.
-
Application Portal: Farmers must apply online on the official agri-haryana.gov.in portal.
๐ Eligibility and Key Documents
To qualify for the subsidy and the DSR incentive, applicants must:
-
Be registered on the state’s ‘Meri Fasal โ Mera Byora’ (MFMB) portal.
-
Have a valid RC (Registration Certificate) for a tractor registered in the state of Haryana (as the DSR machine is tractor-operated).
The subsidy is being provided on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, making the July 10 deadline crucial for interested farmers. Required documents for the online application include the MFMB registration details, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP ID), bank account details, and the tractor’s RC.
The subsidy scheme aims to make DSR technology accessible, reduce labor costs, and collectively ensure the environmental sustainability of paddy cultivation in Haryana.
