Governor Dattatraya Inaugurates Key Student Projects at J.C. Bose University

On July 15, 2025, Haryana Governor and Chancellor Bandaru Dattatraya visited the J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA in Faridabad to inaugurate two major student-centric infrastructure projects. The inauguration marks a significant step in upgrading the university’s facilities to meet growing student needs and align with modern educational standards.

๐Ÿข New Hostel and Activity Centre Unveiled

During the ceremony, the Governor dedicated projects worth over โ‚น30 crore to the student community. The two key facilities inaugurated were:

  1. A. Lalitha Girls’ Hostel: A new multi-storey hostel block named after A. Lalitha, India’s first female engineer. This facility is designed to provide safe and modern accommodation, featuring approximately 83 rooms equipped with necessary amenities, a Chief Warden’s office, and visitor rooms, significantly boosting the university’s residential capacity for female students.

  2. Lord Krishna Student Activity Centre: A comprehensive hub designed to foster student interaction and extracurricular growth. This building houses a cafeteria, a mess, and dedicated spaces for various student clubs and societies. It aims to bring essential student welfare services, including registration and scholarship desks, under one roof for greater convenience.

๐Ÿ“š Focus on NEP 2020 and Skill Development

Addressing the gathering, Governor Dattatraya lauded the university’s efforts in expanding its infrastructure and implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He emphasized that such facilities are crucial for creating a holistic learning environment that promotes research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

He urged the faculty to focus on skill-oriented education to enhance employability, stating that the new infrastructure would play a pivotal role in the all-round development of the students. The event was attended by senior university officials, including the Vice-Chancellor, who briefed the Governor on future expansion plans, including the upcoming new campus on the Gurugram-Faridabad road.
