CM Nayab Saini Proposes ‘Mini-Japan City’ in Naraingarh

In a bid to solidify Haryana’s position as the preferred destination for Japanese investment in India, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today invited global automotive and tech giants to expand beyond the NCR into northern Haryana.

  • Naraingarh: The New Japanese Hub: The CM proposed his home constituency, Naraingarh, as the site for a new dedicated Japanese cluster. He highlighted its strategic location (45 km from Chandigarh) and proximity to Punjab, UP, and Uttarakhand. This cluster will be one of the 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) planned across the state.

  • Honda’s Green Initiative: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with Honda for a groundbreaking Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste management project.

    • The Deal: The Haryana government will provide land in Manesar and supply the debris.

    • The Output: Honda will deploy advanced technology to process “malba” (rubble) into durable interlocking tiles for public pathways.

  • Infrastructure Boost: The CM discussed a ₹3,000 crore pipeline project from the Munak Canal to ensure 24/7 water supply for the Manesar industrial belt, planned for the next 30 years of growth. He also announced that advanced fire-fighting systems would be introduced in Gurugram, Faridabad, and Sonipat to support high-rise industrial units.

  • Japan Visit Roadmap: Saini briefed the representatives about his upcoming visit to Tokyo and Osaka (Oct 6–8), where he will inaugurate the Haryana State Zone at the World Expo 2025 and meet with Suzuki’s global management to finalize further expansions.
