The Announcement: Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini approved the proposal to provide free travel to women, mirroring the popular scheme implemented during Raksha Bandhan earlier this year. “Our government is committed to the safety and convenience of our sisters. This free travel facility is a small token of respect for the women of Haryana,” the CM stated.

Start Time: The free service will commence at 12:00 PM on October 22, 2025.

End Time: The facility will remain in effect until 12:00 Midnight on October 23, 2025 (Bhai Dooj day).

Eligibility & Coverage: * Who: All women of any age and children (both boys and girls) up to 15 years of age.

Bus Type: Valid only in Ordinary/Standard buses of Haryana Roadways. (Note: Not applicable in AC or Volvo buses).

Routes: Coverage includes all routes within the state and those ending in Chandigarh and Delhi.

Operational Readiness: Transport Minister Anil Vij has instructed the department to cancel leaves for drivers and conductors for these two days. Extra buses have been stationed at major hubs like Gurugram, Faridabad, Rohtak, and Hisar to prevent overcrowding.

Safety Measures: Special women-only help desks have been set up at major bus stands. Police personnel will be deployed at transit points to ensure the security of female commuters during the late-night hours of October 23.
Official Advice: Commuters are encouraged to reach bus stands early to avoid the peak evening rush. The Transport Department has also enabled a WhatsApp Helpline for real-time bus tracking and reporting any issues related to fare demands or seat availability during the free travel window.
