Jhajjar Gets Dedicated Cyber Crime Police Station; Home Minister Leads Opening

Nov 18, 2025 | Haryana

In a proactive step toward securing Haryana’s digital landscape, the district of Jhajjar today officially launched its first fully independent Cyber Crime Police Station.

  • Advanced Infrastructure: The new station features a Cyber Forensic Lab and a Social Media Monitoring Cell. It is designed to handle complex cases including phishing, sextortion, and business email compromise (BEC) frauds that have been on the rise in the NCR satellite districts.

  • Specialized Manpower: Unlike regular police stations, this unit is staffed by personnel with backgrounds in IT and data science. “We are not just catching criminals; we are tracing digital footprints that cross international borders. This station is a fortress against invisible thieves,” the Home Minister stated during the inauguration.

  • The “1930” Integration: The station will work in close coordination with the National Cyber Crime Helpline (1930). Officials highlighted that the first 2 hours of a financial fraud are critical, and the local station will now have the authority to directly liaise with banks to block suspicious transactions.

  • Public Awareness Wing: Beyond enforcement, the station will run a “Cyber Pathshala” (Cyber School) initiative, conducting weekly workshops for students, senior citizens, and businessmen to educate them on “Safe Digital Hygiene.”

Community Sentiment

“Last year, my father lost ₹50,000 to a KYC scam, and we had to go all the way to a different district just to file a proper technical report. Having this specialized station right here in Jhajjar is a huge relief. It shows the government is finally taking ‘digital theft’ as seriously as physical theft,” said a local resident and IT professional.
