Yamunanagar: CM to Kick Off International Saraswati Mahotsav Today

In a major cultural and spiritual event, the Chief Minister of Haryana is set to inaugurate the International Saraswati Mahotsav 2026 today from Adi Badri in Yamunanagar district. The festival, which celebrates the heritage of the mythical Saraswati River, aims to promote historical research, tourism, and the environmental restoration of the river’s ancient paleochannels.

The Inauguration Ceremony The festivities will begin with a traditional ‘Aarti’ and ‘Havan’ at the Saraswati Udgam Sthal (the origin point) in Adi Badri.

  • Key Rituals: The CM will participate in the religious ceremonies followed by the laying of foundation stones for several developmental projects centered around the Saraswati heritage circuit.

Strategic Vision The Chief Minister is expected to highlight the government’s commitment to the Saraswati River Rejuvenation Project. This includes:

  2. Tourism Hub: Developing Adi Badri and Pehowa as major religious tourism destinations on the lines of the Kurukshetra circuit.

Security and Arrangements The Yamunanagar district administration has made extensive security arrangements for the high-profile visit. Traffic diversions have been put in place on the routes leading to Adi Badri to ensure a smooth flow of devotees and visitors.
