Antim Panghal, the 21-year-old wrestling sensation from Hisar, has created history by becoming the costliest Indian player in the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) 2026. During the player auction held in New Delhi, the UP Dominators franchise acquired her for a staggering ₹52 lakh.

Record Bid: Antim’s ₹52 lakh bid is the highest for any Indian wrestler in this edition of the league. She will compete in the 53-kg weight category.

Global Comparison: While Antim topped the Indian chart, the overall record for the most expensive player went to Japanese Olympic champion Yui Susaki, who was bought by Haryana Thunders for ₹60 lakh.

League Comeback: The PWL has returned after a hiatus, kicking off in Noida on January 15 and concluding on February 1, 2026.
Hisar’s Dominance Antim is not the only wrestler from the district to shine in the league.

Background Antim hails from Bhagana village in Hisar. Her father, Ramniwas Panghal, shared that she began training 10 years ago at a local akhara and is currently laser-focused on her Olympic preparations. “She has proved her mettle on the mat time and again. We hope she uses this platform to come back stronger for the Asian Games and Olympics,” he added.
