In a high-stakes operation, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Haryana Police (Karnal Unit) has arrested a most-wanted criminal, Rajinder alias Jinda, from the Zirakpur-Panchkula road near Majri Chowk. The operation took a dramatic turn when the accused reportedly consumed a poisonous substance immediately upon being cornered by the police.

The Interception: Acting on specific intelligence, the STF team intercepted Jinda, who was riding an Activa scooter. Realizing he was surrounded, he swallowed a poisonous substance in an attempt to evade custody or end his life.

Hospitalization: His health deteriorated rapidly, and he was rushed to the Government Civil Hospital in Sector 6, Panchkula. After receiving emergency treatment and being stabilized, he was discharged and formally handed over to the Sector 7 Police Station.
Criminal Profile Rajinder alias Jinda, a resident of Gondar village in Karnal, is a hardened criminal with a bounty of ₹25,000 on his head (₹20,000 by Karnal Police and ₹5,000 by Kurukshetra Police).

Track Record: He has been absconding for the past nine months. During this period, he allegedly formed his own gang and continued to commit crimes.

Cases: Police records show he is involved in at least 19 serious criminal cases across Haryana, including murder, robbery, dacoity, and extortion.

Seizure: The police recovered a .32-bore country-made pistol and 10 live cartridges from his possession.
Legal Action A fresh FIR (No. 10 dated January 20, 2026) has been registered against him at the Sector 7 Police Station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. He has been remanded to four days of police custody for interrogation regarding his gang’s network and weapon sources.
