CHEERAG Portal Reopens Till Jan 30 for Pending Class X-XI Admissions

Jan 26, 2026 | Haryana

Providing a final opportunity for eligible students from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), the Haryana School Education Department has reopened the online portal for the CHEERAG (Chief Minister Equal Education Relief, Assistance and Grant) Scheme for the academic session 2025-26. The portal will remain active until January 30, 2026.

Reason for Reopening

  • The Delay: The decision comes after several private schools failed to upload the data of students admitted to Class XI on the portal. This was largely due to the delayed declaration of the Class X results, which were announced on June 15, 2025.

  • Target Group: This window is specifically for students who had physically sought admission or applied between April 1 and July 15, 2025, but whose technical formalities remained incomplete.

Directives to Schools

  • Compliance: The Department has identified 276 private recognized schools that have pending data. Strict instructions have been issued to these institutions to upload the necessary details of admitted students within the stipulated timeline.

  • Consequences: Failure to upload the data by January 30 may result in the cancellation of the student’s claim under the scheme for the current session.

Scheme Overview The CHEERAG scheme allows government school students from families with an annual income of less than ₹1.80 lakh to enroll in private schools from Class II to XII. The government reimburses their tuition fees (ranging from ₹700 to ₹1,100 per month depending on the grade) directly to the private school.
