In a shocking incident of alleged medical gross negligence that has sparked outrage, the Haryana Police have booked five doctors for leaving a surgical sponge inside a woman’s womb during a procedure. The case took a darker turn with allegations that the accused medical professionals attempted to cover up their fatal error by fabricating a false ultrasound report to mislead the patient and her family.
The matter came to light after the patient continued to suffer from severe pain and complications following her surgery. According to reports, the doctors had performed a surgical procedure on the woman but failed to remove a surgical sponge before suturing the wound. As the patient’s condition deteriorated, the accused doctors allegedly produced a manipulated ultrasound report that showed “normal” results, effectively hiding the foreign object left inside her body.
The victim’s family, suspicious of the continuous health decline despite the “normal” report, sought a second opinion which revealed the truth. Following a complaint, the police have registered a case against the five doctors involved. Authorities are investigating the authenticity of the medical documents and the sequence of events during the surgery. The incident raises serious questions about patient safety and accountability in private medical practice within the state.
