Emphasizing the state government’s commitment to transparent and efficient governance, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ambala has issued strict directives to all departmental heads to resolve complaints received during Samadhan Shivirs on a priority basis. During a comprehensive review meeting held at the District Secretariat today, the DC expressed dissatisfaction with pending grievances and mandated a “zero pendency” goal for the current month.

The Samadhan Shivir Initiative The Samadhan Shivir is a flagship program of the Haryana government designed to address public grievances on the spot by bringing various departments under one roof.

  • The Directive: The DC instructed officials to ensure that no complaint remains unresolved beyond a stipulated timeframe. He emphasized that the primary objective of these camps is to provide immediate relief to citizens, and any bureaucratic delay defeats the purpose.

  • Key Focus Areas: A large number of complaints in Ambala pertain to the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP), property ID corrections, and social security pensions. The DC directed the concerned departments to expedite verification processes for these issues.

  • Accountability: The DC warned that any negligence or undue delay by officials would be met with departmental action. He ordered the creation of a tracking log to monitor the status of every application filed during the Shivirs.

Improving Public Delivery The DC also urged citizens to attend the daily Samadhan Shivirs being held at the sub-division and district levels between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. He noted that several issues, particularly those related to municipal records and revenue department documentation, can be settled immediately if the applicant provides the necessary supporting documents on the spot.

To ensure better outreach, the district administration plans to deploy mobile Samadhan units to rural blocks, ensuring that elderly and specially-abled citizens do not have to travel long distances to get their grievances addressed.
