The Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell of the Ambala police has achieved a major breakthrough by arresting four members of an inter-state gang of vehicle thieves. The gang was primarily involved in stealing old and small vehicles across Haryana, Punjab, and Chandigarh to dismantle and sell them for parts.
The Arrests

-
Operation: Acting on a tip-off that three suspects (Vineet, Shubham, and Rimanshu) were in the Baldev Nagar area, Inspector Rishipal (In-charge, Anti-Vehicle Theft Cell) set up a checkpoint near the Central Jail flyover. The trio was caught with a stolen four-wheeler. Their interrogation led to the arrest of the fourth associate, Mandeep Singh.
Criminal History
-
Confessions: During interrogation, the accused confessed to stealing nearly 60 vehicles over the last decade.
-
Scope: There are approximately 45 cases already registered against them in Punjab, Chandigarh, and Haryana.
