Bahadurgarh: 4 Major Chowks to Get Themed Facelift Worth ₹1 Crore

To enhance the city’s visual appeal and streamline traffic flow, the administration has launched a project to reconstruct and beautify four major chowks (intersections) in Bahadurgarh. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Swapnil Ravindra Patil on Wednesday laid the foundation stones for the project, which will incur a total expenditure of over ₹1 crore.

Project Details & Budget The Municipal Council of Bahadurgarh will execute the work, with a deadline of four months. Each chowk will be developed on a specific theme reflecting the local culture and identity.

  1. Rao Tula Ram Park Chowk (Jhajjar-Badli Road): ₹34.34 lakh (Highest allocation).

  2. Nehra-Nahri Road Junction: ₹29.99 lakh.

  3. Sector 9 Bypass Road Chowk: ₹25.29 lakh.

  4. Railway Junction Chowk (Railway Road): ₹14.69 lakh.

Official Inspection During his visit, DC Patil also inspected the Footwear Development Institute (FDI) at the Footwear Park.

  • Industry Insight: It was revealed that Bahadurgarh produces nearly 63% of India’s non-leather footwear.

  • Employment: The local footwear industry employs around 3.5 lakh people, and the institute trains 15,000 youth annually with a 100% employment guarantee.
