Bhiwani Court Firing: 8 Gangsters Arrested After Police Encounter

Panic gripped the Bhiwani judicial complex on Tuesday morning as gunshots rang out near the Tehsildar’s office, marking yet another violent chapter in the region’s gang wars. The incident, which occurred around 11:00 AM, targeted a history-sheeter named Arvind, who had arrived for a court hearing. While Arvind escaped unhurt, the police launched a swift chase that culminated in an encounter, leading to the arrest of eight assailants.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Sumit Kumar confirmed that the attack was the fallout of an old rivalry between Arvind and another gangster, Vinod (alias Binnu). Both parties had reportedly gathered at the court for a compromise meeting regarding a previous monetary dispute. However, talks failed, and Binnu’s associates—identified as Ayush (Boxer) and others—opened fire at Arvind. The attackers immediately fled the scene, prompting a massive police manhunt.

Within hours, police teams cornered the fleeing gang members. When surrounded, the accused allegedly fired at the police party, triggering retaliatory fire. “In the exchange, two accused—Shripal and Ayush Boxer—sustained bullet injuries to their legs and have been hospitalized. Two others were injured while attempting to flee,” SP Kumar stated. The arrested individuals have been identified as Shripal, Jitender (Jeetu), Aman, Israil, Deepanshu, Ayush, Sunny, and the gang leader Vinod (Binnu).

Police recovered three illegal weapons from their possession. District Bar Association President Sandeep Tanwar expressed grave concern over the security lapse, noting that this is the second such firing incident in the court complex in the last five months. He demanded stricter security protocols, including the deployment of additional commandos, to ensure the safety of lawyers and litigants.
