Kaithal’s journey toward becoming a regional healthcare hub took a giant leap forward today as the Chief Minister formally inaugurated the construction of the district’s new Government Nursing College.
-
Strategic Vision: The new college is part of the state’s broader “Health for All” roadmap. CM Nayab Saini stated that the facility would not only produce skilled nursing professionals but also significantly improve the patient-to-staff ratio in the nearby Kaithal Civil Hospital, where students will receive clinical training.
-
Modern Facilities: The project includes a multi-storey academic block, advanced simulation labs, a digital library, and separate hostels for students. “We are moving away from traditional classrooms to technology-driven medical education. These students will be trained on the same equipment used in the world’s best hospitals,” the CM remarked.
-
Economic & Social Impact: The establishment of the college is expected to boost the local economy in Kaithal by creating auxiliary jobs and increasing the demand for local services. More importantly, it offers a direct career path for students from rural backgrounds who previously had limited access to professional nursing courses.
-
Incentives for Students: The CM also announced that students graduating from this government college would be given priority in state-level health department recruitments, provided they clear the mandatory qualifying exams.
Community Sentiment
“For years, we had to send our daughters to Rohtak or Chandigarh for nursing courses, which was expensive and difficult. Having a government college right here in Kaithal is a dream come true for middle-class families. It gives our children a chance to serve their own people while building a great career,” said a local resident and teacher from Kaithal.
