Setting the tone for the upcoming financial roadmap, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has declared that the State Budget for 2026-27 will be centred on the “welfare of all sections of society” and reflect the future aspirations of the common citizen. Speaking at a high-level review meeting with senior administrative officers at Haryana Niwas on Thursday, the Chief Minister emphasized that the government’s priority is to move beyond mere statistics and present a budget that delivers visible, on-ground development.
During the meeting, CM Saini reviewed the implementation status of schemes announced in last year’s budget across key departments, including Education, Health, Development and Panchayats, and Urban Local Bodies. He directed officials to ensure that the benefits of state schemes reach the last person in the queue directly. Saini highlighted that special emphasis is being laid on administrative efficiency, technological innovation, and better resource utilization to maximize the impact of public funds. “The government is accountable to the people; hence, the announcements and programmes included in the budget must be implemented at the ground level within the stipulated time frame,” he asserted.
The Chief Minister outlined specific focus areas for the 2026-27 fiscal year, identifying education, health, women and child development, water resources, and infrastructure as key pillars. He stated that the budget formulation process is being made more inclusive through continuous dialogue with stakeholders, including farmers, workers, and industry representatives. To enhance transparency and effectiveness, the state plans to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and information technology for better monitoring and evaluation of welfare schemes.
Cabinet ministers present at the meeting included Krishan Lal Panwar (Development and Panchayats), Mahipal Dhanda (Education), Vipul Goel (Urban Local Bodies), and Dr. Arvind Sharma (Cooperation), among others. The Chief Minister reiterated that along with accelerating the pace of economic development, the budget will ensure social justice and balanced growth across all regions of Haryana.
