In a major move to provide financial stability to the marginalized sections of society, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today released a total of ₹858 crore for various flagship welfare schemes. The funds are being disbursed through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, ensuring that the aid reaches the bank accounts of beneficiaries without any intermediaries.
Breakdown of the ₹858-Crore Allocation The massive fund release is part of the state government’s monthly commitment to social security and “Antyodaya” (serving the last person in the queue).
-
Old Age Samman Allowance: A significant portion of the ₹858 crore is earmarked for the monthly pension of senior citizens.
-
Divyang (Disability) Pension: Funds have been released for thousands of persons with disabilities to assist with their daily living and medical expenses.
-
Widow and Destitute Women Pension: Financial aid for women who have lost their primary breadwinners was also part of this major disbursement.

CM’s Vision for Digital Governance During the release event, CM Saini emphasized that Haryana is a leader in using technology to deliver welfare. “By releasing ₹858 crore directly into bank accounts, we are eliminating corruption and ensuring that not a single rupee is diverted. Our government is committed to the welfare of the poor, the elderly, and the specially-abled,” the CM stated.
Impact on Beneficiaries The timely release of these funds is expected to benefit over [Omitted – likely 30-35 lakh] beneficiaries across the state. The administration noted that the inclusion of the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) has automated the identification of eligible individuals, making the process of receiving these benefits much faster and more transparent than in previous years.
Future Welfare Roadmap CM Saini also hinted at an upcoming expansion of the eligibility criteria for certain social security pensions in the next budget to include more low-income families. The state government is also working on integrating all welfare services into a single “Jan Sewa” mobile app for easier access.
