The “Spirit of Haryanvi Pride” was on full display today as the state leadership celebrated six decades of progress. The Raj Bhavan echoed with applause as the state’s highest achievers were recognized for their transformative impact on society.

  • Honoring the Best: Among the 50 awardees were international para-athletes like Jyoti, social activists such as Mohanlal Garg, and innovative industrialists. The awards recognized excellence in categories ranging from healthcare and K-12 education to textile recycling and organic farming.

  • Sports Capital Proclamation: CM Saini highlighted that in the recent Paris Olympics 2024, five out of India’s six medals were won by Haryana athletes. “Our state is the nursery of champions. From wrestling mats to track and field, Haryana’s soil produces the gold that makes India proud. We are officially the Sports Capital of India,” the CM stated.

  • Development Milestones: The Governor announced a special grant of ₹6 lakh for the performing artists and noted that the state’s budget for sports infrastructure has been doubled. Currently, Haryana houses 14 hockey astroturfs, 2,000 sports nurseries, and high-tech athletic tracks in almost every district.

  • Vision 2047: The ceremony also served as a launchpad for the “Mission 2047” task force. The CM reiterated the state’s commitment to transparent recruitment, noting that 3 lakh youth have found employment under the current merit-based system.

“To be honored at the Raj Bhavan on Haryana Day is the greatest highlight of my career. Seeing the state invest so much in sports nurseries gives us hope that the next generation of champions will have world-class facilities right in their villages,” said one of the award-winning athletes from Rohtak.
