Addressing a massive public gathering in the political heartland of Jind on July 22, 2025, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini strongly reiterated his government’s unwavering commitment to farmer empowerment. Speaking at a ‘Jan Kalyan’ rally, the CM highlighted the state’s robust welfare framework, stating that the “Double Engine” government has consistently prioritized the agrarian sector over political populism.
๐ Focus on Welfare and Compensation
During his address, CM Saini listed several key achievements and ongoing initiatives designed to support the farming community:
-
Crop Compensation: He assured farmers that the government is expediting the release of compensation for crops damaged during the recent erratic monsoon rains (referencing the surplus rain in southern districts).
-
MSP Guarantee: The Chief Minister reaffirmed that Haryana is the only state procuring 24 crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP), a distinction he used to counter opposition narratives.
-
Direct Benefits: He emphasized the transparency of the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, noting that subsidies for fertilizers and machinery are now reaching farmers’ accounts without any middlemen.
๐ฃ๏ธ Targeting the Opposition
Taking a dig at the opposition parties, specifically the Congress, CM Saini accused them of “shedding crocodile tears” for farmers while having a poor track record during their tenure.
-
“Hisab” Campaign Counter: responding to the opposition’s ‘Haryana Maange Hisab’ campaign, Saini remarked, “Those whose own accounts are full of scams have no moral right to ask for an account from a transparent government.”
-
Jind Development: He also announced a slew of local development projects for the Jind district, including upgrades to rural roads and the strengthening of the canal irrigation network to ensure tail-end water availability.
The rally is seen as a strategic move to consolidate support in the Jat-dominated belt of Jind ahead of the upcoming electoral cycles.
