CM Saini’s “Teej Kothli”: Gas Cylinders at ₹500 & New Schemes Gifted to Women

The anticipation surrounding the Haryana government’s “special gifts” for women on the occasion of Teej culminated in major announcements today. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, presiding over the state-level Teej Mahotsav in Ambala on July 28, unveiled a “Kothli” (traditional gift bag) of welfare schemes, fulfilling the government’s promise to empower the state’s “Matru Shakti.”

🎁 The Big Reveal: “Har Ghar-Har Grihini” Delivering on a highly anticipated promise, CM Saini officially rolled out the benefits under the ‘Har Ghar-Har Grihini’ scheme.

  • Cheap LPG: Approximately 50 lakh BPL (Below Poverty Line) families in Haryana will now receive domestic LPG gas cylinders for just ₹500.

  • Direct Benefit: The subsidy amount (exceeding ₹500) will be directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

👩‍👧 Launch of “Lado Sakhi Yojana” In a move to further improve the state’s sex ratio and maternal health, the CM launched the ‘Lado Sakhi Yojana’.

  • The Scheme: Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, and ANMs will be designated as “Lado Sakhis” to monitor and support pregnant women.

  • Incentive: They will receive an incentive of ₹1,000 for every girl child born under their care/monitoring.

🏛️ Cultural Boost To preserve Haryanvi traditions, the CM inaugurated 131 Mahila Sanskriti Kendras (Women’s Cultural Centers) across the state. These centers will serve as hubs for women to practice folk arts, singing, and organize local festivals.

🗣️ CM’s Message “Teej is not just a festival of greenery but a celebration of our respect for women,” CM Saini stated addressing the massive gathering in Ambala. He also distributed loans worth ₹100 crore to Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to boost rural entrepreneurship.
