From Screens to Swings: 6-Year-Old Boy’s Plea to CM Saini Over Broken Park Equipment

Feb 18, 2026 | Haryana

In a heart-touching display of civic awareness, a six-year-old boy from Sirsa has reached out to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, seeking the repair of broken recreational equipment at a local park. The young complainant, Rajvardhan, a Class I student and resident of Aggarwal Colony, took the formal route by filing his grievance through the state’s official CM Window system.

The Complaint The young boy highlighted the deteriorating state of the Traffic Park, located within the Mini Secretariat complex. In his message, Rajvardhan pointed out that this park is the only safe outdoor space near his home for children to play. However, he noted that the swings, slides, and other play equipment are currently “badly damaged” and pose a significant risk of physical injury.

Impact on Health A striking part of the six-year-old’s plea focused on the health implications for his peers. Rajvardhan stated that because the park is no longer safe or functional:

  • Many children have stopped visiting the grounds entirely.

  • His friends and neighbors are spending more time indoors.

  • There has been a noticeable increase in screen time, with children constantly watching television or using mobile phones, which he noted “is not good for their health.”

Appeal for Action Representing the voices of local children, Rajvardhan urged the Chief Minister and district authorities to intervene immediately. He requested the removal of all rusted and broken equipment and the installation of modern, safe swings and slides to restore the park’s environment.

Local residents and parents have praised the young boy’s initiative, noting that while adults often overlook these maintenance issues, Rajvardhan’s direct appeal has finally brought the spotlight to the neglected infrastructure of the Traffic Park.
