The Haryana government on August 6 announced a special gift for women ahead of the Raksha Bandhan festival. Transport Minister Anil Vij confirmed that women and children up to the age of 15 will be allowed to travel free of cost on Haryana Roadways buses.
๐ Travel Details & Timing To facilitate travel for sisters visiting their brothers, the free ride facility will be valid for a duration of 36 hours.

๐ Scope and Conditions The Transport Minister clarified the specific conditions for availing of this waiver:

Bus Type: The free travel is applicable only on Ordinary buses of Haryana Roadways. It does not apply to luxury or AC buses (Volvo/Mercedes).

Routes: The benefit covers travel within Haryana and extends to routes connecting Chandigarh and Delhi.

Beneficiaries: Women of all ages and accompanying children up to 15 years old.
๐ฃ๏ธ Ministerโs Statement “Raksha Bandhan is a symbol of the sacred bond between brother and sister. This decision has been taken so that sisters can reach their brothers’ homes comfortably and safely,” stated Anil Vij. He also noted that strict instructions have been issued to ensuring buses stop at designated stops to prevent inconvenience.
