The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Haryana, kicked off preparations for the upcoming National Sports Day on August 4 by launching a dedicated online portal for the state’s colleges. The portal is designed to streamline the organization and reporting of events scheduled for “Khel Diwas” later this month.
๐ป The Portal Launch On August 4, the DHE released the link (via the official highereduhry.ac.in platform) and issued instructions to all Principals of Government, Aided, and Self-Financing Colleges across the state.

Objective: To create a centralized database of the sports activities planned by institutions to honor Major Dhyan Chand on his birth anniversary (August 29).

Mandate: Colleges have been directed to register their events on the portal to ensure state-wide participation and monitoring.
๐ Khel Diwas 2025 Plans The Directorate has instructed institutions to ensure “mass participation” rather than just elite sports competitions.

Focus Areas: The DHE has encouraged colleges to organize events centered around indigenous games (like Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Tug of War) and general fitness challenges to promote a healthy lifestyle among youth.

Reporting: Colleges must upload pre-event schedules now and will be required to upload action photographs and participation data immediately after the events on August 29.
๐ฃ๏ธ Official Statement “Sports is an integral part of the Haryanvi identity. This portal ensures that every college contributes to the ‘Fit India’ vision and that the celebrations are documented systematically,” a senior DHE official stated from the Shiksha Sadan in Panchkula.
The move aims to avoid last-minute scrambling for data and ensures that the state’s celebration of the “Hockey Wizard” is uniform and grand.
