Haryana Police Flag March in Nuh & Panipat on Dussehra Eve

Oct 1, 2025 | Haryana

In a proactive move to ensure the safe conduct of Dussehra festivities, the Haryana Police today took to the streets in force. The flag marches, conducted simultaneously in the Mewat region (Nuh) and the industrial hub of Panipat, serve as a stern warning against any attempts to incite violence or disturb the festive spirit.

  • Nuh Security Shield: Following the communal sensitivities of the past year, Nuh remains under a high-security blanket. The Superintendent of Police (SP) led a march from the main chowk to the outskirts, covering key installation areas. “Our objective is to build confidence among the public. We have zero tolerance for rumors or disruptive activities during the Ravan Dahan ceremonies tomorrow,” a senior Nuh official stated.

  • Panipat Vigilance: In Panipat, the focus was on the narrow lanes of the old city and areas surrounding the main Ramlila grounds. Police personnel, including Anti-Riot Police (ARP) units, paraded through the city to check the readiness of security protocols.

  • Deployment Details:

    • Personnel: Over 1,000 additional police personnel have been deployed across these two districts.

    • Surveillance: High-definition CCTV cameras at Ravan Dahan sites are being monitored 24/7 by a centralized control room.

    • Peace Committees: Local “Aman Committees” (Peace Committees) involving elders from all communities have been activated to assist the police in maintaining local harmony.

  • Advisory for Citizens: The police have issued a strictly-enforced advisory against the use of unauthorized firecrackers and have warned that any inflammatory posts on social media will be tracked and prosecuted under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Strategic Importance: These flag marches are part of a broader “Operation Peace” initiated by the state government. By securing Nuh and Panipat—two districts with distinct socio-political challenges—the administration aims to set a precedent for peaceful multi-cultural celebrations across the rest of Haryana.
