Haryana has solidified its position as a national economic powerhouse, recording a stellar 21% increase in its net SGST revenue. The announcement came during a department review where the state’s Excise and Taxation achievements were highlighted as a model for “efficient tax administration and technology-driven governance.”

Record-Breaking Figures: For the current financial year up to November 2025, Haryana’s total GST mop-up reached ₹83,606 crore, marking a 7% overall increase compared to the previous year. The specific surge in SGST (21%) reflects high domestic consumption and improved compliance within the state.
-
National Standing: Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini noted that the state has climbed from 5th to 4th position nationally. Haryana now follows only Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Gujarat in terms of total GST contribution, a remarkable feat for its geographic size.
-
Digital Transparency: The CM attributed this success to new digital initiatives, including the “Kar Hitaishi” mobile app and a real-time VAT monitoring dashboard. These tools have helped reduce tax evasion and streamlined the refund process for over 6.03 lakh registered taxpayers in the state.
-
Excise & VAT Growth: Beyond GST, the state also saw a significant rise in excise revenue, which stood at ₹9,370 crore. The One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme-2025 was particularly successful, leading to a 60% jump in Central Sales Tax (CST) collections before it concluded in late September.
Economic Impact: The robust tax collection is expected to provide the state government with additional fiscal headroom to fund upcoming mega-projects, including the Gurugram Global City and the expansion of the Metro network in Faridabad and Rohtak.
