In a significant move to modernize public transport, the Haryana Roadways has introduced a dedicated mobile application for live bus tracking. The launch fulfills a long-standing demand from daily commuters for better predictability and digital transparency in state-run bus services.
-
Real-Time Tracking: The app allows users to enter a bus number or route to see the exact location of the vehicle. Currently, the service covers long-distance routes including Sirsa, Narnaul, Hisar, Gurugram, Delhi (ISBT & IGI Airport), and Chandigarh.
-
Integrated Services: Beyond tracking, the app serves as a “one-stop shop” for passengers. Users can apply for the HAPPY Card (Haryana Antyodaya Parivar Parivahan Yojana), book online tickets for Volvo and AC buses, and view updated timetables.
-
User Authentication: To ensure security, the app requires users to register with their mobile number and verify via OTP. Once logged in, commuters can set a 4-digit PIN for quick access.
-
Future Expansion: While the initial phase focuses on long-distance and luxury buses, officials confirmed that work is underway to integrate local village routes and standard “Ordinary” buses into the tracking system within the coming months.
Minister’s Vision: Transport Minister Anil Vij emphasized that this app is just the beginning. The department is also installing high-tech display screens at major bus stands to provide real-time updates, similar to the flight information systems found at airports.
