Haryana Schools Host State-Wide PTM

Jul 4, 2025 | Haryana

In a crucial step to ensure educational continuity following the annual break, the Haryana government announced on July 4, 2025, that all state-run primary schools would host a mandatory Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) on July 5, 2025. This large-scale initiative aims to evaluate student progress and, most notably, assess the completion of homework and learning activities assigned during the summer vacation.

๐Ÿ“ Focus on Evaluation and Remediation

The Directorate of School Education, Haryana, issued a directive stipulating that the PTM on July 5th would serve as a vital platform for teachers and parents to collectively discuss the academic standing of students, particularly those in Classes III to V in government primary schools.

The core objectives of the mandatory PTM are:

  • Homework Evaluation: Teachers will evaluate the ‘Holiday Homework’ assigned to students, which included activities designed to be completed with the help of family members.

  • Identify Learning Gaps: The meeting will allow teachers to identify any gaps in learning that may have emerged during the month-long break.

  • Collaborative Strategy: Parents will receive detailed feedback and cooperate with teachers to implement strategies aimed at strengthening the students’ grasp of subjects and overall academic performance.

๐Ÿƒ Engagement Beyond the Classroom

To encourage maximum parental and student participation, the schools were instructed to organize various interactive and fun activities alongside the academic discussions. These included sports and games like Matka Race, Lemon Race, Three-Legged Race, Musical Chairs, and Tug-of-War where parents and children could participate together, fostering a positive and engaging school environment.

Every school head is required to submit a comprehensive report of the PTM to their Cluster Head, ensuring accountability and effective monitoring of the educational outcome across the state. This move underscores the Haryana government’s commitment to improving the quality of foundational learning and promoting active parent-teacher collaboration.
