Jan 3, 2026 | Haryana

In a swift move to ensure administrative discipline and hygiene, the Mayor of Hisar conducted an unannounced surprise inspection of the Municipal Corporation (MC) office early this morning. The visit was aimed at checking the punctuality of staff, the maintenance of records, and the overall cleanliness of the premises.

  • The Inspection: Arriving shortly after the office opened, the Mayor visited several branches, including the Property Tax, Accounts, and Sanitation departments. The Mayor expressed dissatisfaction over the heaps of old files and dust found in certain sections.

  • Directives Issued:

    • Hygiene Standards: The Mayor directed the sanitary inspectors to ensure that the office corridors and washrooms are cleaned multiple times a day. “If the Municipal Corporation’s own office is not clean, how can we expect the city to be a model of cleanliness?” the Mayor remarked.

    • Attendance Check: Several employees found arriving late were marked absent, and the Mayor instructed the Commissioner to seek explanations from the concerned branch heads.

    • Public Dealing: The Mayor interacted with citizens present at the Suvidha Kendra and directed officials to resolve public grievances, especially those related to Property IDs and Garbage Collection, without unnecessary delays.

  • Warning to Staff: A stern warning was issued to all officials and field staff that any laxity in duty would lead to departmental action. The Mayor emphasized that the MC office should be a welcoming space for taxpayers.

  • Follow-up Plan: The Mayor announced that such “surprise raids” would continue across various zonal offices of the MC to ensure that the “Clean Hisar, Green Hisar” campaign is followed in letter and spirit by the administration itself.
