HSSC Clarifies Police Exam Leak Rumors Are Fake

Sep 12, 2025 | Haryana

The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) moved quickly today to stabilize the situation after digital rumors threatened to derail the peace of thousands of aspirants preparing for the upcoming police recruitment tests.

  • The Rumor Mill: Late last night, several Telegram channels and private groups dedicated to competitive exams began circulating messages claiming that the question paper for the Male Constable (General Duty) exam was “out.” Some users even posted blurred images of what they claimed were the original question booklets, demanding money for the full set.

  • HSSC’s Rebuttal: The HSSC Chairman issued a formal statement today, asserting that no such breach has occurred. “All question papers are kept under multi-layered security and have not even been moved to the centers yet. The images circulating on social media are from previous years’ exams or are doctored templates used by fraudsters to scam students,” the statement read.

  • Warning Against Fraudsters: The Commission noted that cyber-criminals often use “exam panic” to siphon money from desperate candidates. HSSC has shared the details of suspicious Telegram handles with the Haryana Cyber Cell for immediate investigation and tracking of those spreading misinformation.

  • Strict Monitoring: Following the 2021 paper leak incident (which led to the cancellation of the constable exam at that time), the HSSC has implemented the Haryana Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act. Under this, spreading fake news about paper leaks is also a punishable offense, carrying heavy fines and imprisonment.
