A tragic road accident claimed the life of a teenage boy in Jhajjar on Thursday morning when a speeding truck overturned and crushed him. The incident occurred on the city’s mini-bypass while the victim, identified as Gaurav, was cycling to a relative’s house. Gaurav, the son of a migrant labourer named Devendra from Hathras (Uttar Pradesh), had left home early to fetch lassi from Kheri-Khummar village when the mishap took place.

According to eyewitnesses and police reports, a truck loaded with crushed stones, coming from the opposite direction, lost control and overturned directly onto the cyclist. The impact was fatal, killing the teenager on the spot. The driver of the truck managed to flee the scene immediately after the crash, leaving the vehicle behind. Local residents who gathered at the site reported that the truck was being driven at a high speed, which likely caused it to lose balance.

Responding to the emergency, a police team rushed to the bypass and initiated a recovery operation. Due to the heavy load and size of the vehicle, authorities had to press three cranes into service to lift the overturned truck and recover the victim’s body. The body was subsequently sent to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police officials stated that they are investigating the cause of the accident, looking into whether poor visibility due to dense fog played a role or if it was solely due to the driver’s negligence.
