Jhajjar: Two Shootouts Leave One ASI Hurt; Three Criminals in Custody

The Jhajjar Police conducted a major offensive against criminal elements, leading to two separate encounters within the district in the last 24 hours. The operations resulted in the arrest of three youths allegedly involved in serious crimes, while an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Haryana Police sustained injuries during the confrontation.

The First Encounter The first shootout took place near [Omitted – likely a bypass or rural road] when a police team acting on a tip-off intercepted two suspects on a motorcycle.

  • The Exchange: The suspects allegedly opened fire at the police party to evade arrest. In the retaliatory fire, one of the suspects was injured in the leg.

The Second Encounter & ASI Injury The second incident occurred during a late-night raid aimed at nabbing a wanted criminal.

Police Statement Senior police officials visited the injured ASI in the hospital and lauded the bravery of the teams. “Our personnel showed immense courage under fire. We are sending a clear message that Jhajjar will not be a safe haven for criminals. These youths are part of a local module that has been terrorizing traders,” a spokesperson for the Jhajjar Police stated.

Investigation Status The three arrested youths are currently under interrogation to trace the source of their illegal weapons and identify other members of their gang. Fresh FIRs under the Arms Act and for attempt to murder police officials have been registered. The police are also investigating if these individuals are linked to any major inter-state gangs like the Lawrence Bishnoi or Goldy Brar syndicates.
