In a major victory against digital crime, the Kaithal District Police has revealed that it successfully arrested 60 cyber fraudsters during the year 2025. This significant number of arrests highlights the department’s intensified focus on tackling online scams and financial fraud that have increasingly targeted unsuspecting citizens.
-
Modus Operandi: The arrested individuals were involved in a variety of cyber offenses, including:
-
Phishing Scams: Stealing sensitive banking information through fraudulent links.
-
Sextortion: Blackmailing victims using compromised personal videos/images.
-
KYC Frauds: Posing as bank officials to siphon funds under the pretext of updating accounts.
-
Investment Scams: Luring people with the promise of high returns through fake trading apps.

-
Financial Recovery: Along with the arrests, the Kaithal Cyber Cell reported the recovery and freezing of several lakhs of rupees. The police successfully blocked numerous bank accounts and UPI IDs linked to these fraudulent activities, preventing further losses.
-
Inter-State Modules: Many of the arrests were part of larger inter-state gangs operating from hubs like Jamtara, Bharatpur, and Mewat. The Kaithal police conducted several raids outside the state to nab the masterminds.
-
SP’s Statement: The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Kaithal lauded the cyber team’s technical expertise. “Our goal is not just to arrest but to prevent. We have significantly reduced the response time for ‘1930’ helpline complaints, which has been crucial in freezing stolen money within the ‘golden hour’,” the SP said.
-
Public Awareness: Throughout 2025, the Kaithal Police also organized over 100 ‘Cyber Pathshalas’ in schools, colleges, and rural areas to educate the public on safe digital practices.
-
Plan for 2026: Encouraged by the success of 2025, the district police plans to upgrade its Cyber Lab with AI-based investigation tools to further track the digital footprint of sophisticated criminals.
