Emphasizing the need for quality infrastructure and timely completion of civic projects, Mayor Suman Bahamani conducted a surprise inspection of ongoing development works in Ward 11 here on Saturday.
Accompanied by Municipal Corporation officials, the Mayor visited several localities, including Gadhauli, Darwa, Dadwa Majri, Shanti Colony, and the area near Hanuman Chitta Mandir. She took stock of the construction quality of roads, streets, and drainage systems, directing officials to ensure strict adherence to prescribed standards.
During her visit to Gadhauli Colony, Mayor Bahamani inspected the renovation work at the Valmiki Dharamshala. She further instructed officials to develop a green belt in the area. “Developing green spaces within colonies is essential not only for environmental preservation but also to provide residents with better facilities for recreation,” she remarked.
Residents of Darwa apprised the Mayor of the dilapidated condition of the local Community Centre and Anganwadi building. Taking serious note of the grievance, she ordered the preparation of estimates for their immediate repair to restore public access.
Addressing complaints regarding non-functional streetlights and choked sewerage lines, the Mayor directed the concerned officers to resolve the issues on the spot. She warned that any negligence in the execution of development works would invite strict disciplinary action.
