In a brazen display of lawlessness, members of the mining mafia allegedly attacked a team of the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau during an operation against illegal mining in the Pratap Nagar block. The incident occurred near Bhilpura-76 village in the early hours of Friday (January 23), when a tractor-trailer driver attempted to run over the officials and rammed their vehicle.
The Incident

The Operation: Acting on specific inputs, a team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Narinder Singh was conducting vehicle checks around 1:00 AM. They signaled a tractor-trailer loaded with suspected illegal mining material to stop.

** The Chase:** Instead of stopping, the driver sped away towards Bhilpura village. The enforcement team pursued and eventually intercepted the vehicle inside the village.

The Attack: According to the police complaint, the driver, identified as Muntzeer (alias Bhura), attempted to run over the team members, forcing them to jump to safety. In his bid to escape, he rammed the tractor-trailer into the official government vehicle, causing significant damage.

Mob Violence: The situation escalated when the accused’s family members, including women, gathered at the spot. They allegedly obstructed the officials, used abusive language, and issued threats to prevent the seizure of the vehicle.

Accused: The police have booked Muntzeer and Anwar, along with other unidentified persons, all residents of Bhilpura-76.
