Narnaul Coldest in Haryana at 8°C; Winter Chill Intensifies

Nov 16, 2025 | Haryana

The desert-adjacent district of Mahendragarh has officially become the “refrigerator” of Haryana, as Narnaul saw its mercury levels touch a single-digit low of 8°C today.

  • The Chill Factor: The drop to 8°C is significantly lower than the seasonal average for mid-November. Meteorologists attribute this to the clear skies at night, which allow rapid terrestrial radiation, combined with cold winds blowing in from the northern hills.

  • State-Wide Impact: It wasn’t just Narnaul; the entire “Bagar” belt of Haryana is feeling the shivers.

    • Hisar: 9.2°C

    • Bhiwani: 10.1°C

    • Karnal: 11.0°C

  • Agricultural Outlook: While the chill is a signal for humans to bring out the woolens, it is a “Golden Hour” for farmers. Agricultural experts from HAU Hisar stated that the dip in night temperature is perfect for the vegetative growth of Mustard and will help in the timely tillering of the newly sown Wheat crop.

  • Health Advisory: With the falling temperatures, the AQI remains a concern. The cold air is denser, trapping pollutants closer to the ground. Doctors at the Narnaul Civil Hospital have reported an increase in cases of “seasonal flu” and have advised residents to use lukewarm water and stay covered during early morning walks.

Community Sentiment

“Usually, we don’t need heavy blankets until late November, but last night was exceptionally cold. We’ve already started the small morning fires (Alav) in the village squares. It’s good for the crops, but the sudden change is making the kids and elderly catch colds,” said a resident of a village near the Rajasthan border.
