Nuh: Fake Doctor Arrested for Performing Surgery Without a Degree

Nov 16, 2025 | Haryana

A serious threat to public life was averted today as the Nuh Health Department shut down a “house of horrors” masquerading as a medical clinic in a village in the Mewat region.

  • The Sting Operation: Acting on a confidential tip from a patient who suffered complications after a procedure, a team led by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Nuh conducted a surprise inspection. The team found the suspect in the middle of “treating” a patient in a highly unsanitary room.

  • Shocking Discoveries: The raid revealed that the individual, who had only completed secondary education, was using sophisticated surgical tools to treat wounds and perform minor incisions. The clinic lacked basic sterilization equipment, posing a massive risk of sepsis and infections to the villagers.

  • Seizure of Evidence: Officials confiscated a large stock of Schedule-H drugs and steroids, which were being dispensed without prescriptions. “It is horrifying to see someone with no medical training holding a scalpel. This individual was playing with the lives of innocent people for a few hundred rupees,” a health official noted.

  • Legal Action: The clinic has been sealed, and the suspect is in police custody. The Health Department has announced a district-wide survey to identify other such “Jhoola-Chhap” (quack) doctors who often target rural areas where medical literacy is low.

Community Sentiment

“We thought he was a real doctor because he had a big board and gave medicines that worked quickly. Many of us went to him for small stitches or boils. Knowing now that he didn’t even have a degree is terrifying. We are lucky no one died in our village,” said a local resident.
