In a turn of events resembling a movie plot, a high-end luxury car stolen from a prominent political figure was recovered by the Hisar police today. The vehicle, a Mercedes belonging to BJP leader Shyam Lal Bansal, was found abandoned in a “blind alley” in Litani village of the Uklana block.
-
The Theft: The car was reportedly stolen early Friday morning from outside Bansal’s residence in Panchkula. The thieves managed to sneak into the house, secure the keys, and drive off with the luxury sedan undetected.
-
The “Narrow” Mistake: While attempting to navigate through the rural interior of Hisar to evade highway checkpoints, the thieves entered a narrow residential street in Litani village. The wide luxury car became wedged between the walls of the houses, making it impossible to move forward or backward.
-
The Abandonment: Sensing they were trapped, the suspects locked the vehicle and fled the scene on foot before villagers could question them. Locals, suspicious of a locked Mercedes blocking their street for hours, alerted the Uklana Police.
-
Recovery: Station House Officer (SHO) Amit Kumar confirmed that upon checking the engine and chassis numbers, the car was matched to the Panchkula theft report. A crane was used to carefully extract the vehicle from the narrow street.
Official Action: The Hisar police have handed over the vehicle to a special team from Panchkula. Forensic experts are scanning the interior for fingerprints to identify the gang involved in this high-profile interstate car theft.
