A devastating fire broke out at a textile factory in the Sector 25 industrial area of Panipat today, resulting in the tragic death of a 45-year-old supervisor. The blaze started in the early hours and quickly engulfed raw materials, sending thick plumes of smoke across the industrial hub.
The Incident The fire erupted as the morning shift was beginning. The supervisor was inside the warehouse when the flames spread rapidly due to the presence of flammable synthetic fabrics. Fire tenders from Panipat and nearby refinery units were rushed to the spot, taking nearly six hours to bring the blaze under control. Rescue teams recovered the supervisor’s body once they were able to enter the facility; he was declared dead on arrival at the Civil Hospital.
Investigation Preliminary investigations by the Fire Department suggest a short-circuit in the electrical panel as the cause. The Panipat Police have registered a case regarding the incident to determine if there was any negligence in maintaining fire safety standards at the unit.
