The spiritual vibrations of Kurukshetra reached their zenith today as Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the International Gita Mahotsav, bringing the world’s attention to the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita.

  • The Sacred Rituals: PM Modi’s visit began at Jyotisar, where he offered prayers under the ancient Banyan tree. He participated in a 51-kundiya Gita Yajna alongside 500 scholars and saints. The Prime Minister spent nearly 30 minutes in meditation, soaking in the spiritual ambiance of the site where Lord Krishna is believed to have delivered the Gita.

  • Key Address to Saints: Speaking at the Sant Sammelan, the PM described the Gita as an “unending source of inspiration” for a world facing mental stress and geopolitical conflict. “From climate change to world peace, the answers lie in the balance taught by the Gita,” he said. He specifically thanked the 16 foreign delegations present, noting that “The Gita belongs to anyone who seeks the truth.”

  • Inaugurating New Projects: During his visit, the PM also virtually inaugurated the Gita Gyan Sansthanam extension and reviewed the progress of the ‘Krishna Circuit’ under the Swadesh Darshan scheme. He remarked that the new museum at Jyotisar would make the epic “come alive” for the younger generation using holographic technology.

  • The Brahma Sarovar Aarti: The visit concluded with the PM performing a special evening Aarti at the Brahma Sarovar, where over 1,00,000 diyas were lit simultaneously in his honor, creating a breathtaking visual of the “Gita Deepotsav.”
