Rewari: ₹50-Cr Water Boosting Station Inaugurated; 20 Villages to Benefit

Nov 13, 2025 | Haryana

The long wait for clean and reliable drinking water in the Ahirwal region ended today as the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) commissioned its most significant project for the year in Southern Haryana.

  • Targeting the Tail-End: For decades, nearly 20 villages in the remote corners of Rewari had struggled with low water pressure and saline groundwater. The new ₹50 crore boosting station acts as a pressure-hub, ensuring that the water from the canal-based supply reaches the very last house in these villages without the need for individual motor pumps.

  • Technical Specifications: The station features an RCC Underground Tank with a capacity of several lakh liters, a sophisticated filtration unit, and a dedicated power feeder to ensure uninterrupted operations. “This is not just a building; it is a lifeline. We have used ductile iron piping to prevent leakages and ensure longevity,” said a senior PHED official at the site.

  • Health & Economic Impact: Minister Banwari Lal highlighted that the project would significantly reduce water-borne diseases in the area. Furthermore, the average household is expected to save approximately ₹1,000–₹1,500 per month that was previously spent on purchasing water from private suppliers.

  • Expansion Plans: During the event, the Minister announced that another ₹100 crore has been sanctioned for similar water-strengthening projects in Bawal and Kosli, aimed at achieving 100% saturation in the district by mid-2026.

Community Sentiment

“In our village, the tap water barely used to trickle for ten minutes a day. We spent more time standing in lines at the community well than in our fields. Today, seeing the water gush out with such pressure feels like a dream. This is the biggest development our village has seen in a generation,” said a resident of one of the beneficiary villages.
