Saraswati Circuit From Adi Badri to Sirsa to Boost Tourism: Haryana CM Nayab Saini

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the International Saraswati Mahotsav 2026, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that the state is developing a dedicated “Saraswati Tourism Circuit” stretching from Adi Badri to Sirsa. The initiative aims to boost religious tourism and generate significant employment opportunities for the youth.

Key Announcements

  • The Circuit: The proposed tourism corridor will cover historical and religious sites in Kurukshetra, Pehowa, Kaithal, Hisar, Rakhigarhi, Fatehabad, and Sirsa.

  • Objective: The CM stated that the project will not only attract history enthusiasts and pilgrims but also create new business avenues for locals.

  • Rejuvenation Projects: During the event, CM Saini inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 26 projects worth ₹63.86 crore aimed at the rejuvenation of the Saraswati river.

    • Scientific Backing: He highlighted that the government is collaborating with 75 institutions (including ISRO, GSI, and ONGC) to restore the river, emphasizing that scientific evidence proves the Saraswati is “not a myth but a reality.”

  • Infrastructure: Over the last decade, the government claims to have built 18 new bridges along the river’s route and restored 111 heritage sites on its banks.

Cultural Significance Addressing the gathering at Saraswati Tirtha on Basant Panchami, the CM described the river as a symbol of India’s cultural unity. He also paid tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on Parakram Diwas, which coincided with the event.
