The whistle of a goods train brought much-needed cheer to the parched agricultural landscape of Bhiwani today. As the “Special Fertilizer Rake” pulled into the station, it carried the hope of thousands of farmers who had been standing in queues for days.

High-Level Intervention: Following reports of unrest and “red slips” being issued from police stations in Tosham, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had personally requested the Central Government for priority rake movement. The resulting shipment includes approximately 2,500 metric tonnes of DAP, specifically earmarked for the Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri belt.

Ministerial Supervision: Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana conducted surprise inspections at several Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS). “Our priority is to ensure that no farmer goes home empty-handed. We have strictly warned dealers against ‘tagging’ (forcing farmers to buy unwanted pesticides) and hoarding,” the Minister stated while interacting with farmers at a local distribution hub.
-
Distribution Protocols: To eliminate chaos, the administration is now using the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal data to verify land holdings. Farmers are being issued time-stamped tokens to prevent long waiting hours. Distribution is being carried out in the presence of Nodal Officers from the Agriculture Department and local police to ensure a scuffle-free environment.

Tackling the Black Market: Local authorities have intensified raids on private traders. The arrival of this massive government-controlled stock is expected to crash the “premium prices” (reportedly up to ₹1,900 per bag) that were being charged by black marketers in the district.

“We were losing sleep over our mustard crop. The sowing window was closing, and we didn’t have a single bag of DAP. Seeing the Minister himself checking the bags and ensuring we get them at the government rate of ₹1,350 has restored our faith. This train is literally a lifeline for us,” said a farmer from a village near Loharu.
