Dec 26, 2025 | Haryana

In a moving tribute to the unparalleled courage of the four Sahibzades (sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji), the Haryana government today organized a massive state-level function in Karnal to observe Veer Bal Diwas.

  • The Eternal Sacrifice: Addressing a large gathering including religious leaders, students, and citizens, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that the martyrdom of Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh is a testament to the fact that bravery has no age. “The stories of their sacrifice are etched in the soul of India. They chose death over renouncing their faith and values, and today, they continue to inspire millions,” the CM said.

  • Major Announcement: To ensure that the legacy of the Sahibzades is passed on to future generations, the CM announced the construction of a Grand Memorial (Smarak) in Haryana dedicated to their memory.

    • Location: While the specific site is being finalized, the memorial is expected to be an educational hub featuring a high-tech museum and a library.

    • Objective: The memorial will depict the life, teachings, and the “Battle of Chamkaur” through digital exhibits.

  • Inclusion in Curriculum: The Chief Minister also reiterated that the history of the Sahibzades has been integrated into the school curriculum in Haryana to instill a sense of national pride and moral fortitude among students.

  • Kirtan & Shabad: The event began with soulful Kirtan and Shabad recitals by prominent Ragi Jathas. Special exhibitions showcasing the lineage of the Sikh Gurus and the historical context of their struggle against tyranny were also set up at the venue.

  • Honoring Youth: Several children who have shown exceptional bravery or achieved excellence in social service were honored by the CM with the “Veer Bal” citations.

  • Message of Unity: Highlighting the syncretic culture of Haryana, the CM urged people to follow the path of “Sarbat da Bhala” (welfare of all) and stand united against divisive forces.
