The Sirsa Police today sent a loud and clear message to the drug mafia by literally sealing the doors of a high-value asset built on the suffering of the youth.

  • Targeting the Kingpin: The property belongs to a smuggler who has been involved in multiple cases of heroin and opium trafficking over the last decade. Investigations revealed that the suspect had no legitimate source of income to justify the construction of the opulent bungalow.

  • The Legal Process: Under the NDPS Act, the police successfully established the “nexus” between the illegal drug trade and the purchase of the land and construction of the house. Following the attachment, the owner is barred from selling, renting, or transferring the property until the court proceedings are finalized.

  • Psychological Impact: A public notice was pasted on the main gate of the bungalow in the presence of local witnesses and a heavy police force. “This is not just about one house; it is about showing that crime does not pay. We will continue to identify and freeze assets that have been irrigated with drug money,” said the Superintendent of Police (SP), Sirsa.

  • Zero Tolerance: Sirsa, being a border district, has seen a 40% increase in property attachments related to drug cases this year. The police have currently prepared a list of 15 more such properties worth over ₹10 crore, which are under the scanner for similar action.

Community Sentiment

“For years, we saw these people growing rich overnight while our children were falling into addiction. Seeing the police take away their luxury homes gives us hope that the law is finally catching up with them. This ‘Bulldozer-style’ financial strike is more effective than just putting them in jail for a few months,” said a resident of a nearby colony in Sirsa.
