With only 48 hours remaining for Haryana Day, the city of Karnal is in top gear. The final dress rehearsal today served as a “litmus test” for the security and cultural protocols planned for the main event on November 1st.

Parade Precision: The rehearsal began at 9:00 AM with the hoisting of the ceremonial flag. Multiple contingents of the Haryana Police, including specialized women units and the mounted police, performed the march-past to the tunes of the police brass band.

Cultural Highlights: For the first time, the 2025 parade will feature a “Digital Haryana” tableau, illustrating the state’s transition to paperless governance and e-services. Rehearsals for Haryanvi folk dances like Dhamal and Ghoomar were also conducted by school students, set to be a major draw for the public.

Security & Traffic: To facilitate the rehearsal, the roads leading to the Police Lines were diverted for four hours. Over 500 police personnel have been deployed for the main event’s security grid. CCTV surveillance has been enhanced around the venue, and “Pedestrian Only” zones will be enforced on Saturday.

History in Motion: Haryana Day commemorates the day the state was carved out of Punjab on linguistic lines in 1966. Officials noted that Karnal, being the Chief Minister’s home turf and a major agricultural hub, holds special significance for this year’s celebrations.
