Health Minister Inaugurates 10 New Mohalla Clinics in Sonipat

The healthcare landscape of Sonipat underwent a significant digital and physical upgrade today as the state government fulfilled its promise of “doorstep diagnostics.”

  • The Vision: Minister Arti Singh Rao stated that the inauguration is a step toward making Haryana a leader in universal healthcare. “We want to ensure that no resident of Sonipat has to travel more than 15 minutes to see a qualified doctor for common ailments,” she said during the launch at a newly renovated portable cabin clinic.

  • Services Offered: Each of the 10 clinics is equipped with automated laboratory systems. Patients can avail themselves of 212 types of essential medicines and 147 diagnostic tests (including blood sugar, lipid profiles, and kidney function tests) entirely for free.

  • Digital Integration: The clinics are linked to a central cloud system. Test results are directly uploaded and can be accessed by patients on their smartphones, reducing the need for multiple physical visits.

  • Staffing and Quality: To ensure high standards, the department has empaneled a new batch of medical officers and pharmacists. Each clinic will have a dedicated Medical Officer, Pharmacist, and Multi-Tasking Staff. The Minister also checked the cold-storage facilities for vaccines and the stock of life-saving drugs during her inspection.

“For years, we had to spend half a day and at least ₹200 in auto-rickshaw fares just to get a fever checked at the main Civil Hospital. Having a clinic right here in our mohalla means we can get treated and still make it to work on time. It’s a massive saving for families like ours,” said a resident of Sonipat’s Sector 15.
