Haryana GST Hits Record High in November Driven by Festival Sales

Nov 30, 2025 | Haryana

Haryana’s treasury is brimming with record revenues as the state’s economy showcased exceptional resilience and growth during the recent festive period.

  • Revenue Milestone: While the official audited figures will be released by the Union Finance Ministry tomorrow, the Haryana Finance Department’s internal data shows that collections have surpassed previous records. The growth is estimated to be around 15–18% higher than the previous year’s November collection.

  • Sectoral Highlights: * Automobiles: Gurugram and Rohtak saw record vehicle registrations, with a high preference for SUVs and EVs.

    • Electronics & Appliances: Sales of smartphones, home appliances, and luxury gadgets peaked during Diwali week.

    • Real Estate & Services: Increased transactions in the real estate sector and the hospitality boom in Kurukshetra (due to the Gita Mahotsav) also contributed to the tax pool.

  • Compliance and Technology: The department credited the high collection to better tax compliance and the effective use of AI-based tools to track tax evasion. “The widening of the tax base and the formalization of the economy in rural Haryana have started reflecting in our monthly numbers,” a senior official stated.

  • Future Outlook: With the wedding season now in full swing and the year-end shopping coming up, the Finance Department is optimistic about maintaining this momentum through December as well.
