Home Minister Inaugurates High-Tech Cyber Crime Police Station in Nuh to Dismantle “Jamtara of Haryana”

In a decisive move to scrub the “Jamtara” tag from the Mewat region, the Haryana Home Minister today inaugurated a state-of-the-art Cyber Crime Police Station in Nuh. This facility is designed to serve as the nerve center for regional cyber-intelligence and rapid response.

  • Targeting the “Jamtara of Haryana”: The Nuh district has long been under the scanner for a surge in online financial frauds, particularly sextortion and OLX-related scams. By calling it the “Jamtara of Haryana,” the Home Minister emphasized that the region will no longer be a safe haven for digital criminals. “We are bringing the fight to their doorstep. No more hiding behind burner phones and fake IDs,” the Minister declared.

  • Facility Highlights:

    • Cyber Lab: The station is equipped with high-end forensic tools for data recovery, mobile phone analysis, and tracking of cryptocurrency transactions.

    • Dedicated Squads: Specialized teams trained in tracking “phishing” and “social engineering” tactics will be stationed here 24/7.

    • Advanced Surveillance: The station will use AI-driven tools to monitor social media trends and identify potential “hotspots” of cyber-criminal activity in real-time.

  • Community Outreach: Beyond enforcement, the Minister announced the launch of the “Cyber Rakshak” program. Under this, local police will engage with village panchayats to educate youth about the legal and social consequences of cybercrime, aiming to steer them toward legitimate IT careers.

  • Strategic Significance: This is part of Haryana’s wider plan to have a dedicated cyber station in every district. Nuh, however, has been given a “Priority 1” status due to the high volume of interstate cybercrime complaints originating from the area.

  • Home Minister’s Warning: The Minister sent a clear message to the local syndicates: “Our technology is now more advanced than your scams. Every call you make is being mapped, and every account you use is being traced.”
