Rewari district has secured the first position in Haryana for the creation of unique Farmer IDs under the Union Government’s ambitious Agri Stack programme. According to an official statement released by the district administration, a total of 35,677 farmer IDs have already been generated, marking a significant milestone in the digitization of the agricultural sector.
Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Meena confirmed that the district administration, in collaboration with the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, has been working on a war footing to register farmers. Currently, 58,767 farmers in the district are registered under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, and nearly 60% of them have now been issued their unique digital identities. “The Agri Stack farmer ID is extremely beneficial as it enables farmers to access government schemes, subsidies, insurance, and loans directly and transparently,” DC Meena stated.
The administration has launched a special campaign to achieve 100% coverage. Field teams are visiting villages to conduct awareness drives and facilitate on-the-spot registration. Officials emphasized that in the near future, possession of this unique ID will be mandatory for availing benefits under various state and central welfare schemes, including crop compensation and fertilizer subsidies. The initiative aims to create a unified database that links land records with farmer profiles, eliminating duplication and ensuring that benefits reach the actual cultivators.
